.B /etc/init.d/sav-protect
start | stop | try-restart | restart | status

.SH DESCRIPTION
.B sav-protect
provides control and status information for the Sophos Anti-Virus daemon (savd).

To start the Sophos Anti-Virus daemon on system boot, enter the command:

.RS
savdctl enableOnBoot sav-protect
.RE

To disable the Sophos Anti-Virus daemon on system boot, enter the command:

.RS
savdctl disableOnBoot sav-protect
.RE

.SH OPTIONS
The following options can be used:
.IP start
Start the daemon. savd automatically enables on-access protection if it is configured to do so.
.IP stop
Stop the daemon. This disables on-access protection.
.IP try-restart
If the daemon is already running, it is stopped and restarted. This interrupts on-access protection.
.IP restart
The daemon is stopped and restarted. This interrupts on-access protection.
.IP status
Display the status of the daemon.

.SH EXIT STATUS
Returns 0 if successful, or non-zero if an error occurs.
